  • "After having experienced a rather disappointing show with another promoter, in 2009, we were looking for a different New York City venue. I can’t speak highly enough about Richard and Joanna Rothbard, Allie and the rest of the AAM staff. They did a stellar job of seeing to our show needs, listened to our suggestions and actually acted on them. They did their homework and skillfully advertised to our Target Market. As a result the 2011 show was even better than the year before. The caliber of work was upscale, professional and reasonably priced. The turnout was impressive and what we heard from the clientele was overwhelmingly positive. Having show promoters who are artists really makes a huge difference in understanding exhibitor’s needs. They have experienced shows from our side of the fence - and know what we are looking for and need to make a show successful. Allowing us to hand carry our booth and supplies - shaved hours from our previous set up time. The provision of a “lockup” at night for a very reasonable fee – allowed us to have peace of mind about leaving our inventory on site. If you are serious about pursuing a NYC venue, the Javits Center is the place to be and American Art Marketing is the way to go!"

  • "I'd have to say this NYC show is really off to a great start. The 2nd year was like a show from the good old days when it was worth the trip! The buyers were from all over, enthusiastic and knowledgeable. I look forward to a 3rd year."

  • "As a veteran artist of many, many art fairs, festivals and Artexpo shows, I would recommend ContemporaryArtFairNYC if you are ready to step up your game. As a third year exhibitor (2012) I am expecting another first rate art show experience. Richard Rothbard and American Art Marketing are experienced in all aspects of show producing. They are invested in NYC and it's art scene and have been for many years. They know what's going on. And on top of everything that goes into producing a show like this in NYC, Richard and Joanna and their staff really care about me, the artist. As an exhibitor, I am valued and my concerns are important to them. From my experiences with AAM, I know that they will do all in their power to make the artists' experience profitable, enjoyable and sustainable. Here is a show for artists to show to an educated NYC audience, to present their work seriously in an affordable 'expo' type of show. I have been a part of this show now for two years and am looking forward to 2012. This show is on it's way to becoming a staple of the NYC art scene."

  • "The quality of the artists' work was even stronger this year, and once again I had multiple pieces sell. In addition, I had two gallery owners come through and offer me solo shows to exhibit my work in areas I would not have otherwise considered. This show remains one the best values for an independent artist to show work in NYC in an art fair setting."

  • "This show has a lot going for it. Great venue and easier load-in than anticipated, a profitable time of year, a hard-working promoter who knows how to get the job done, the price is right and the location - it's New York City!! Only two years in and the public is responding, a small crowd but one that is buying. Using my mailing list helped my sales. I believe that the crowd will grow and the show will flourish."

  • "I just wanted to tell you thank you. I was thrilled to see my work in the advertising. That was a bonus for me for sure. I wish we had had more time to chat but I appreciate you coming by the booth. I had a good show experience for the first time in NYC and an indoor event. Metro was very helpful and professional. I made some good contacts and the only way to get people on your mailing list and coming to future shows is by participating in shows."

  • "Every artist knows that doing shows to make a living is a venture with risks. Developing a strategy for picking ones to do and ones to avoid is critical. Experience is the only way to really know if a show works or not. I do 18 shows all over the country. 2010, I tried Richard’s New York show. First time shows are always extra-gambly-feeling. Richard got the people to come out, and I did very well…well enough that it was a no-brainer to include it in my show itinerary for 2011. This year it far exceeded my expectations! Folks I met 2010 returned and placed orders, and I’m still getting follow-up orders!!! Looking forward to next year at the Javits for sure!"

  • "I think you are doing the right thing–both shows together, affordable for artists, you got good quality exhibitors, we can all build traffic on that. I thought the live model drawing class was a hoot–what a way to keep the husbands interested! I did better than at a lot of other shows!"

  • "Thank you for the wonderful experience. You did a superb job organizing the Javits event and especially thoughtful of you to bring in serious gallery curation through joint effort with Robert Curcio for the FineArt portion of the Fair. Thank you!"

  • "I just wanted to thank you for the opportunity to exhibit in your show. I think the quality of art and the diversity was one of the best I have seen... truly impressive! I met so many wonderful new artist friends. I applaud you for putting together such a quality exhibition. I can only imagine the amount of work it took for you to put it all together. At times, I viewed the show from the entrance and I was in awe at what you had created. I thought to myself, that you really know what your are doing.... kudos!"

  • "The enthusiasm I felt at this year's 2012 NYC Contemporary Art Fair at the Jacob Javits Center, a Richard and Joanna Rothbard art show, was something extraordinary. The quality of the exhibiting artists work was first rate. The entire staff is top-notch professionals who understand the importance of building community team spirit by using art as a life-enriching tool for all.
I have participated in high-end art shows, nationally and internationally, for close to twenty years now. Thanks to the Rothbards, at the NYC 2012, I was approached by several new sponsors who offered support toward the completion of a massive community art projects I designed and am directing.
Their marketing strategies help participating artists to learn about new ways to increase the chances of making both those high-end art and more affordable art sales.
The Rothbard shows embody a new attitude of  "Modern Positivity" by containing many Internationally renowned artists and musicians alike, which perform live demonstrations of their crafts. Anyone who misses one of these colorful shows has missed a unique life enriching experience that is never totally reproduced with the same unique joy and creativity."
